Cheltenham Racing Festival 2023
The Cheltenham Racing Festival will take place from Tuesday March 14th to Friday March 17th.
The 4 day event will feature some of the best horse racing action in the world, with a total of 28 races taking place over the 4 days.
The highlight of the Festival is the Cheltenham Gold Cup, which takes place on the final day and is the most prestigious race of the meeting and is open to horses aged five years and older. The race is usually contested by some of the best steeplechasers in the world, with the likes of Native River, Al Boum Photo, and Presenting Percy having won the race in recent years.
Other notable races include the Champion Hurdle, Queen Mother Champion Chase, and the Stayers’ Hurdle.
The 28 races that take place at the Cheltenham Festival are:
- Day 1: Supreme Novices’ Hurdle, Arkle Challenge Trophy, Ultima Handicap Chase, Champion Hurdle
- Day 2: Ballymore Novices’ Hurdle, RSA Insurance Novices’ Chase, Coral Cup Hurdle, Queen Mother Champion Chase
- Day 3: Marsh Novices’ Chase, Ryanair Chase, Pertemps Network Final Handicap Hurdle, Stayers’ Hurdle
- Day 4: JLT Novices’ Chase, Trull House Stud Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle, Brown Advisory & Merriebelle Stable Plate, Cheltenham
